North America by Motorcycle with my Dog

Started packing and getting ready for the ride... All tuned up and ready to roll. Any comments from people who have ridden cross-country are appreciated.
I'm going to Maine via motorcycle. Starting in SF and heading east with my dog, Sierra, I will report the things I see and hear. Should be interesting... ;)
